Give Emergency Aid in Ramadan 2024

Many situations require our immediate attention. The ongoing devastation in Palestine. The orphan crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa. The war in Syria. Only Allahﷻ knows if we will get another chance to make a difference. This Ramadan might be our last—engage in Taraweeh, cut out bad habits, and increase your charity this month.

EMERGENCY AID IN RAMADAN 2024: BE THE LIFELINE THEY’RE PRAYING FOR

As Muslims, we are taught to be compassionate, generous, and helpful to those suffering. We are reminded of Allah’sﷻ words in the Qur’an: “And whoever saves one [life] – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” (5:32). This Ayah is synonymous with One Ummah, inspiring our work for over 10 years. By giving emergency aid in Ramadan 2024, you are acting on the words of your Creator and saving lives.

THE DYING NEED FOR EMERGENCY AID IN RAMADAN 2024 AS HUMANITARIAN CRISES’ UNFOLD

Millions of our brothers and sisters worldwide urgently need emergency aid in Ramadan 2024. They are living in regions devastated by violence, poverty, and disaster. They’re struggling to survive the battle against their enemies: hunger, thirst, disease, trauma and displacement.

Syria: 10+ years of civil war, Syria remains one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. Over 13 million urgently require humanitarian assistance, including 6.7 million internally displaced and 5.6 million refugees. They face severe food, water, clothing, shelter and urgent medical care shortages.

Yemen: Yemen is facing another of the world’s largest humanitarian crises, with more than 20 million people in need of emergency relief aid; 16 million are facing acute food insecurity. The ongoing conflict and economic collapse have created a dire situation, with widespread malnutrition and cholera.

Palestine: The Palestinian people have been living under occupation, oppression, and injustice for decades. They face constant violations of their human rights, dignity, and freedom. They also suffer from the effects of the blockade on Gaza, which has created a humanitarian emergency like no other, with limited access to food, water, electricity, health care, and education.

These are just some of the regions that require urgent humanitarian aid to survive. Many more countries are suffering, and nothing will change unless we unite as an Ummah.

Abu Hurairah (r.a.) reported: The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, “Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter.” – [Muslim]

Health: We distribute medical assistance, supplies, and equipment to people facing injury and life-threatening illness. We also provide hygiene and sanitary packs.

Shelter: We gift shelter materials, kits, and tents to the people facing displacement.

Other: The charity also provides other essential provisions and services to those facing hardship. These include clothing, blankets, fuel, education etc.

‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, “If anyone fulfils his brother’s needs, Allah will fulfil his needs; if one relieves a Muslim of his troubles, Allah will relieve his troubles on the Day of Resurrection; and if anyone covers up a Muslim (his sins), Allah will cover him up (his sins) on the Resurrection Day”. – [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

YOU CAN BE THE DIFFERENCE THIS RAMADAN

Ramadan is a month of blessings, mercy and generosity when we fast from dawn to dusk. It is a month where we increase our worship, our charity, and our good deeds and are more mindful of Allahﷻ and His creations. But Ramadan is also a month of challenges, trials and hardships. It is a month when millions of our brothers and sisters worldwide face humanitarian crises such as war, famine, disaster and disease. They desperately need emergency aid and cry out for your help.

This Ramadan, be the hand that feeds. Be the hand that quenches their thirst, heals their wounds, shelters their families, and comforts their hearts. Let us be the hand that reaches out with compassion, generosity and solidarity. Make a difference in this world and the next.

May Allahﷻ accept your fasts, your prayers, your charity, and your good deeds. May He alleviate the suffering worldwide and grant all those in pain Shifa.

Make this Ramadan count. Jazakum Allah Khayr.
