The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).” [Hadith, Sahih Muslim]
A staggering 2 BILLION people don’t have safe access to clean water. Infections from unclean births cause more than 1 million deaths each year. Women and children walk mile after mile, their bare feet dragged through the roughest terrain with the weight of 20 litres on their heads.
Water sanitation is vital for living a dignified, healthy life. Reliable access to safe, clean water means that drinking, cooking and washing no longer pose a risk of illness. Over the years, your donations have allowed us to fight against water poverty and alleviate the suffering of millions.
In 22/23, we gave a drop of hope to almost 150,000 beneficiaries through our water projects. One Ummah worked hard to fight against the lack of clean water: last year, we constructed 90 bore wells in Kenya, 40 in Sierra Leone, 20 in Uganda and 15 in Tanzania.
Earn ongoing rewards for yourself or a loved one by donating towards one of our Sadaqah Jariyah projects. These include water & sanitation projects, building masajid and supporting our worldwide campaigns.'

Sa’d ibn Ubadah reported that he asked the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), “O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?” The Prophet (ﷺ), said, “Yes.” I said, “Which charity is best?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “A drink of water.”
For £1,350, you can build a bore-hole well (Uganda / Sierra Leone / Kenya) which can provide clean drinking water for a village of up to 1,000 people. This well will act as a Sadaqah Jariyah for you or a family member for as long as it is functioning and saving lives in the community.

Imagine not having clean water to drink. This is the harsh reality for billions of people today. Lack of clean water casts a shadow over countless lives – from grappling with waterborne diseases spawned by contaminated sources to the inability to maintain basic hygiene practices.
Giving water is highly recommended in Islam. Whether it be a glass of water or a well, anyone who gives water for the sake of Allah ﷻ will be rewarded immensely during this blessed month.
Save Lives:
Dirty water is a major problem in developing countries, especially for children. Each time the water one donates saves someone’s life, “it is as if he had saved all of Mankind” –(Quran, 5:32).
Forgiveness:
Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, “A prostitute was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allah forgave her because of that.” – [Bukhari] This hadith shows how beneficial giving water to an animal is, imagine you built a well, SubhanAllah.
Sadaqah Jariyah:
'The gift of water can empower and transform communities from the ground up. Clean water leads to healthier communities, more children in school, and more sustainable livelihoods. It is also a great form of Sadaqah Jariyah.
Sa’d ibn ‘Ubadah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Yes.” I said, “Which charity is best?” The Prophet said, “A drink of water.”– [Sunan al-Nasā’ī 3664]
Not everyone is able to build wells for entire communities, but rewards are based on the sincerity of your Niyyah.
Your contribution, no matter the amount, will reach desperate families on the frontline of crisis, providing the essentials needed to survive and rebuild.
